SACTWU HELPS 35 000 PRIMARY SCHOOL LEARNERS
The 11th National Congress of the Southern African Clothing & Textile Workers’ Union(SACTWU) has heard that the union’s Schools Support Program has assisted over 35 000 pre- and primary school learners in over 1 000 schools, with numeracy and literacy skills programmes , over the 3-year period 1 July 2007 to end June 2010, since the union’s previous Congress held in August 2007.
In addition, almost 450 matriculants attended the union’s fully paid Matric Winter Schools, to help them prepare for their matric end of year exams.
