Minister of Economic Development, Ebrahim Patel, to address Textile Workers' PDF Print E-mail

Minister Patel will be addressing workers at Sheraton Textiles in South Field, at lunch time Wednesday 08/04/2015, about state support for Industrial Policy Initiatives.

Arrangements have only been finalised late afternoon today, hence this late media invite unfortunately.

The factory is situated at the following street address:

Sheraton Textiles,  91 Cnr of Princess Vlei- and De Waal Roads, Southfield, Cape Town.

All media are invited to cover the event.

Precise program details are as follows:

1.       Minister to arrive between 12h15 and 12h30, and will be met by the shop stewards and the Sactwu Regional Secretary, Sheila van Rensburg.

2.       He will be escorted to the MD, Nick Steen and his management team, who will provide him with an overview of how the company is doing following the allocation of government support to help make it sustainable.

3.       They will take the Minister on a tour of the plant and the products and the steps they have taken to promote local products.

4.       At 1pm the Minister will address all the employees in the cutting room, about 430 people.
