The Southern African Clothing & Textile Workers' Union (SACTWU) is proud to announce that, in a significant development for improved healthcare provision in our country, the Clothing Industry Healthcare Fund will offer free access to its seven clinics in the Western Cape to about 3,000 retired clothing workers. The services offered to these retired workers will include primary health care facilities and access to optical and dental care.
In the spirit of solidarity, this free health care to the industry's retirees will be cross-subsidised by currently employed clothing workers.
This is in recognition of years of dedicated service rendered to the industry by these retired workers.
The media is invited to the launch of this new health service for the industry's elderly (about 500 retirees have confirmed attendance), as follows:
Date: Wednesday, 12 May 2010
Time: 10h00
Venue: Union Hall, 350 Victoria Road, Salt River, Cape Town
