CLOTHING UNION TO SEW QUILTS ON WORLD AIDS DAY –MEDIA INVITE

 

Over the last month, members of the Southern African Clothing & Textile Workers’ Union have been submitting panels of fabric with an HIV/AIDS awareness message to the union’s Worker Health Program. This is in addition to the lunch-time awareness meetings which the union has called for in all clothing, textile and leather factories tomorrow (see yesterday’s press release).

 

Tomorrow, on World Aids Day, these panels will be sewn together in quilts, whereafter  it will be permanently displayed on the union’s various regional offices. This exercise has been done to explore new and innovative ways of bring across HIV/AIDS Awareness messages  to workers in the industry.

 

These Sew-A-Thons will take place at the following factories and union offices tomorrow:
