SACTWU reaches 7.5% wage settlement in Footwear Sector Print

The Southern African Clothing and Textile Workers’ Union (SACTWU) announces that it has reached yet another recommended wage settlement. Workers in the Footwear sector are being offered a 7.5% wage increase for this year. The agreement was reached under the auspices of the national leather manufacturing bargaining council. The agreement will come into effect backdated  to the first pay week in July this year and 8000 employees in the sector will benefit from this increase. The agreement was concluded between, SACTWU and the Southern African Footwear and Leather Industries Association (SAFLIA).
