PRESS RELEASE: IMMEDIATE

The COSATU-affiliated Southern African Clothing & Textile Workers’ Union (SACTWU) Bursary Fund has produced 69 graduates in 2013. 

Amongst the graduates are 8 accountants, 1 chemistry scientist, 1 computer scientist, 2 engineers, 1 nursing specialist, 1 forensic scientist, 1 geologist, 4 lawyers, 12  teachers, 2 ICT specialists, 1 radiographer, and many others.

We are proud of this achievement and contribution to our country’s national skills base.

Last year, SACTWU’s bursary fund supported 726 students at most higher education institutions nationally. We paid out a total of R6 795 953 last year, in bursary fund support for these students.

A total of 92% of our 2013 bursars were studying at public education institutions and 8% at private institutions.

We are currently processing our bursary applications for 2014.
