SACTWU PRESENTS THE 39th ANNUAL SPRING QUEEN

The 39th Annual SACTWU Spring Queen will be taking place on Saturday the 15th November 2014, at the Good Hope Centre. The pageant will see 44 women, all workers in the clothing, textile and leather sectors across the Western Cape, participating and hoping to be crowned the SACTWU Spring Queen for 2014. The Spring Queen pageant is one of the biggest events in Cape Town, with the Good Hope Centre filled with workers all celebrating the evening with banners and T-shirts emblazoned with their factory's name and the name of their Queen.

This event is the largest fashion show featuring workers as the models. The experience is packed with fun and of great significance for the industry as it showcases the faces that are responsible for the manufacturing of garments, shoes and fabrics that are sold in retail stores and boutiques across South Africa.

The SACTWU Shows its Talent competition is a fresh element that has been added to the event. In its 4th  year, it is slowly receiving momentum and it aims to give ordinary workers the chance to flaunt their talents, be it through music, dance or drama. The event allows these workers to reach their potential with the help of people from the entertainment industry. This year 3 finalists, all members or dependants of members will compete for this title. The SACTWU’s Own Talent CD featuring the 3 finalists will be launched at the event.
Cape Town born performer Jimmy Nevis will entertain the crowd.

The programme starts at 19h30.
