Press Release: Immediate

SACTWU’S 2016 “JAZZ & ALL THAT FASHION” EVENT SOLD OUT!!

Proving once again that there is a great appetite for local fashion flair, SACTWU’s annual “Fashion & All that Jazz” gala dinner for next year, which is billed as the forerunner to the Cape Town International Jazz Festival, has once again sold out – and in record time.  It will be staged at the Cape Town International Convention Centre on 31 March next year.

The event marks the launch of the union’s annual “Wear SA Fashion Festival”, and is aimed at highlighting the abundance of local fashion design and domestic  manufacturing talent we have in South Africa.  Its key message, “Wear South African”, also asks the question: whose label are you wearing, in an effort to educate South Africans regarding their garment purchasing decisions and to grow a vibrant local industry that supports local jobs and consumers alike.

Next year’s event will once again acknowledge those who “Wear South African” and who are the most stylish on the night.  It’s a fun evening that incorporates fashion shows, fine fare and excellent entertainment – with an international music  flair next year from world renowned artists SWV (“Sisters With Voices”) who will serenade those lucky enough to have snapped up one of the sought after tickets.

The  union’s ”Fashion & All that Jazz” event was first introduced as part of the Cape Town International Jazz Festival two years ago. Next year it will be in its third year.

Its main aim is to promote the local clothing, textile and footwear manufacturing industry and hence, local jobs.
